Bataan donates P3.6M to victims of typhoon Odette

BATAAN CAPITOL- Governor Abet Garcia announced today that the provincial government of Bataan has approved P3 million cash as donation to victims of typhoon Odette.

Aside from the P3 million coming from the provincial government, Garcia said more than P683,000 in cash was also collected as donations from employees and other Bataeños.

“Sa bisa ng Resolution No. 533, na inaprobahan ng Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Bataan na nilagdaan ng inyong lingkod, ang Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Bataan ay magpapaabot ng P3,000,000.00 cash donation bilang tulong sa ating mga kababayang sinalanta ng nagdaang Bagyong Odette,” said Garcia.

The SP led by Vice Governor Cris Garcia immediately approved the allocation of said amount for donation to typhoon Odette cictims.

“Bukod pa po dito ang halagang P683,320.00 na ating nalikom mula sa mga kawani ng ating Pamahalaang Panlalawigan, mga lokal na pamahalaan dito sa Bataan, mga pribadong organisasyon at indibidwal,” the governor added.

The cash donation will be given to Surigao del Norte, Dinagat Islands, Southern Leyte, Bohol, Cebu, Negros Occidental, and Palawan.

Earlier, Balanga Bishop Ruperto Santos also appealed to Bataeños to also donate in whatever forms — cash or in kind — to the affected victims of typhoon Odette.
