INITAO, Misamis Oriental – Five members of a family were killed in a road accident involving a motorcycle in Barangay Gimangpang, Initao, Misamis Oriental on Friday afternoon.
Initial investigations revealed that the victims, a man, his wife, and their three children, were returning to Iligan City from an event in Alubijid, Misamis Oriental. Their motorcycle attempted to overtake a truck, an Isuzu wing van heading towards Cagayan de Oro City, and collided with it.
The truck stopped after the collision, and was subsequently hit from behind by a Honda Civic from Tubod, Iligan City.
The victims were rushed to the hospital, where they were declared dead.
The truck driver is currently in police custody and is facing appropriate charges.
