THE Department of Transportation (DOTr) has ordered the perpetual revocation of the driver’s license of the van driver involved in the Central Luzon Link Expressway (CLLEx) road crash that resulted in five fatalities and eight injuries.
Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon issued the order following a directive from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to hold irresponsible drivers accountable and ensure the safety of all road users and commuters.
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) had earlier issued a show cause order, suspending the driver’s license for 90 days. The owner of the van has also been summoned to explain the incident.
The driver tested positive for drug use after undergoing drug testing by the Philippine National Police (PNP) Tarlac Provincial Office.
