CENTRAL Visayas police nabbed two identified high-value targets and seized over 1,720 grams of shabu worth over P11 million in separate anti-drug operations in Cebu and Dumaguete on Wednesday evening.
PNP Chief, Police General Dionardo Carlos, announced the arrest of two high-value drug-listed individuals Mark Dexter Fernandez, 31, and Pendathon Azes, 33.
Citing the reports from PRO-7 Regional Director, Police Brigadier General Roque Eduardo Vega, PNP Chief Carlos said Fernandez was arrested by operatives of Drug Enforcement Team of Talisay City Police Station, Cebu Police Provincial Office during drug bust operation at around 8:35 in the evening at Sitio Tubod, Brgy. Candulawan, Talisay City, Cebu.
Confiscated from the suspect were six pieces of the knot-tied transparent plastic pack and 20 pieces heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 1,020 grams with an estimated standard drug price of P6,936,000.00, buy-bust money, one green tea bag used as a drug container, and one backpack.
Meanwhile, Azes was nabbed at around 8:07 PM in Purok Katubhan, Brgy. Bajumpandan, Dumaguete City by operatives of Negros Police Drug Enforcement Unit and Provincial Intelligence Unit, Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office together with Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 7 and Dumaguete City Police Station.
Recovered from Azes were seven pieces of a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 700 grams with an estimated standard drug price of P4,760,000.00, buy-bust money, one duffle bag, and one black eco bag.
The two arrested drug suspects were brought to police stations for documentation while confiscated evidence was submitted to Provincial Crime Laboratory Office for laboratory examination.
“We will never stop our efforts in pursuing drug syndicates through our relentless battle against illegal drugs nationwide. Sisiguraduhin natin na mahuhuli at mananagot sa batas ang mga hindi pa rin tumitigil magbenta ng iligal na droga,” Carlos said.
