Tarlac City — At least twelve people were killed and more than twenty others injured in a multi-vehicle collision at the Tarlac City Toll Plaza Exit of the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) on Thursday.

This was confirmed by Marvin Guiang, head of the Tarlac Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO).

Further details regarding the specific number of vehicles involved and the cause of the accident are still being gathered by authorities. Rescue operations are underway, and the injured are being transported to nearby hospitals. The identities of the victims have not yet been released pending notification of their families.

The SCTEX has been temporarily closed at the affected area to allow for emergency response and accident investigation.

Motorists are advised to take alternative routes and exercise caution while traveling in the vicinity. Authorities are working to determine the exact cause of the collision and to implement measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. More information will be released as it becomes available.
