BRIAN Poe Llamanzares, FPJ Panday Bayanihan Partylist first nominee and prominent figure in public policy and national security discourse, recently completed a prestigious Counter Intelligence course at the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA). This immersive experience provided Poe with valuable insights into the world of counterintelligence, learning from the next generation of leaders who safeguard the Philippines from threats.
“What an honor to study alongside the next generation of our country’s counterintelligence leadership at the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency,” Poe said, highlighting the significance of the opportunity.
He was particularly proud to have been personally awarded a certificate of recognition by NICA Director General Ricardo F. de Leon for his case study on the West Philippine Sea. Despite the dispute in the West Philippine Sea, Brian Poe expressed his concerns about China’s control over the Philippine economy. After serving under Senator Grace Poe in the Public Services Committee for several years, he noticed many weaknesses.
Poe acknowledged the dedication of NICA’s personnel, who work tirelessly behind the scenes to protect the nation.
“I’m thankful to have met my classmates, who quietly serve and protect our nation from threats,” he said, underscoring the importance of their work. The NICA course served as a valuable addition to Poe’s national security studies, providing him with a deeper understanding of the complexities of counterintelligence and its critical role in shaping public policy.
“I completed the NICA course on Counter Intelligence as a guest of the agency to round out my national security studies for future public policy,” Poe explained, highlighting his commitment to furthering his knowledge in this field.
Poe’s experience at NICA reflects his dedication to national security and his commitment to contributing to a safer and more secure Philippines. His newfound expertise in counterintelligence will undoubtedly inform his future work in public policy, ensuring that the Philippines remains vigilant in the face of evolving threats.
