
Hong Kong – Hong Kong Disneyland has expressed its condolences and assured the public of its ride safety protocols after a 53-year-old Filipino tourist died after losing consciousness on the “Frozen Ever After” ride on Friday morning, August 29.
According to reports, the tourist passed out during the ride, and his wife alerted staff for assistance. While medical personnel performed CPR while the boat was waiting to dock, the man was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital at 11:30 a.m. The tourist reportedly had a pre-existing medical condition.
A spokesperson for Hong Kong Disneyland stated that the resort “deeply regrets the passing of the guest and will do its utmost to provide necessary assistance to his family.” The spokesperson also emphasized that “Our initial investigation has shown the incident is not related to ride safety,” offering reassurance to park visitors.
