THE Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) is encouraging all Filipinos to register for the Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP) ng Pamahalaan to access a range of health benefits.
In a public advisory, PhilHealth highlighted the program’s vital services and financial assistance, particularly beneficial for those lacking private health insurance.
Access requires a PhilHealth Identification Number (PIN), obtainable online through the PhilHealth Member Portal or in person at local PhilHealth offices. Once registered via the eGovPH app, PhilHealth member portal, or a PhilHealth office, individuals can receive consultations, laboratory tests (with referrals to partner facilities if needed), and medications through accredited GAMOT providers.
YAKAP ng Pamahalaan, a rebranding of the Konsulta Program, offers up to P20,000 worth of free medicines annually per beneficiary. PhilHealth Senior Vice President Israel Francis Pargas explained that the program emphasizes preventative care, encouraging regular check-ups regardless of illness.
The program covers free consultations, 13 laboratory tests, and 21 medications, with plans to expand coverage to include cancer screening and an additional 54 medicines in the future. Registration is crucial to accessing these vital services.
