PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has declared that the Philippines will remain in the State of Calamity until December 31, 2022, under Proclamation No. 57.
The extension, which was recommended by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, was declared to ensure the continued recovery of local government units (LGUs) from COVID-19 through the provision of appropriate funds and basic services, careful price monitoring of essential goods, and the efficient delivery of interventions such as vaccination programs.
Further extending the period of a state of calamity throughout the Philippines due to corona virus disease 2019 effective September 13, 2022 to December 31, 2022, unless earlier lifted or extended as circumstances may warrant, stated in the EO.
