WHAT was meant to be a routine flight to Osaka, Japan, turned into an unexpected return to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) for Philippine Airlines (PAL) passengers on Wednesday, after a cabin pressure issue emerged.
PAL flight PR 412, operated by an Airbus A321-231, experienced the issue at 10:08 a.m. while en route to Kansai International Airport in Osaka. The flight crew initiated a descent and declared an emergency as a precaution, but the issue was later resolved. The plane landed safely back at NAIA at approximately 11:20 a.m.
All 191 passengers and eight crew members safely disembarked. PAL stated that its ground operations team is providing full assistance to affected passengers, including meals, baggage support, and rebooking arrangements for their onward travel. The airline emphasized its commitment to the safety and well-being of passengers and crew and said it is coordinating with relevant authorities.
