THE Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagsa) has announced that the low-pressure area (LPA) currently within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has a medium chance of intensifying into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
In a Facebook post this Monday, Pagasa reported that at 8 a.m., the LPA was located approximately 300 kilometers west of Bacnotan, La Union.
While previous forecasts indicated the LPA would move westward and exit the PAR in the coming days, the possibility of its development into a tropical cyclone remains. If it does intensify within the PAR, it will be named “Auring.”
Pagasa currently reports no other weather disturbances within or outside the country’s monitored areas.Share
