65 stranded OFWs arrive in Manila from Dubai, receive support from authorities

SIXTY-FIVE stranded overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), including three children, arrived this morning at NAIA Terminal 3 in Pasay City aboard Emirates Airlines flight EK 334.

The OFWs had been stranded in Dubai, UAE, due to the ongoing chaos and tensions in the Middle East, which caused significant disruptions to their travel plans back to the Philippines.

Upon their arrival, they were welcomed by personnel from the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), MIA Medical Team, Bureau of Quarantine, and the New NAIA Infrastructure Corporation (NNIC). These agencies immediately provided assistance, including financial support, transportation back to their home provinces, temporary accommodations, as well as psychosocial and medical services.

Authorities clarified that the unrest in the Middle East, which caused flight delays and cancellations, left the OFWs stranded in Dubai. They praised the swift response of the government in helping Filipinos at risk and in need of aid amid the crisis.

The government agencies continue to monitor and prepare to ensure the safe return of all stranded OFWs and to provide support to their families. The stranded workers are advised to coordinate with their local offices and agencies for additional assistance as they proceed with their journey home.
