THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has launched a major recruitment drive offering at least 785 employment opportunities in Croatia through a Government‑to‑Government (G2G) agreement.
The first round of applicant screening and interviews kicked off on October 19, 2026 in Mandaluyong City, with 943 shortlisted candidates scheduled to undergo evaluation across two days. This marks a significant expansion of overseas work avenues for Filipino workers seeking opportunities in Europe.
Nine hotel employers from Croatia were on site to assess candidates for key roles including hotel staff, chefs, waiters, and housekeeping personnel.
The DMW noted that the strong turnout and direct participation of foreign employers underscore the high regard for Filipino talent in the region. “This recruitment event is proof that there is high demand for Filipino workers in Europe and that Filipinos are recognized worldwide for their work ethic, excellent service, and dedication,” the agency stated.
The G2G framework is designed to ensure transparent, protected, and properly regulated employment placements, with safeguards covering contracts, wages, and working conditions. Successful applicants will contribute to Croatia’s growing hospitality sector while gaining valuable international experience. Further details on the next steps in the selection process and additional hiring rounds will be announced through official DMW channels as the partnership continues to develop.
