AT least 46 Filipinos in Gaza have been approved to leave the war-torn Gaza Strip, said the Department of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.
Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Eduardo de Vega said the Filipinos will cross the Rafah border to Egypt on Tuesday night, but no time was specified.
He said 39 Filipinos are waiting at the Rafah border crossing, while seven are having second thoughts about their exit.
De Vega also said Palestinian nationals are standing by for official approval to leave the enclave with their Filipino spouses.
The first batch of Filipinos in Gaza was supposed to leave on Sunday. It was moved to Monday and then delayed again to Tuesday.
Two Filipino doctors have so far successfully crossed to Egypt through the Rafah border amid the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
Migrant Workers officer-in-charge Hans Leo Cacdac earlier said the sixth batch of overseas Filipino workers in Israel is expected to arrive on Tuesday.
