SENATOR. Raffy Tulfo hopes to see positive results as the Committee on Public Services continues its third hearing on the controversy involving the government’s jeepney modernization program.
During Tuesday’s hearing, July 23, 2024, the committee discussed Senate Bill No. 105 otherwise known as the Just and Humane Public Utility Vehicles Modernization Act; Senate Resolution No. 893 – Inquiry on the Assessment of the Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) Modernization Program; and SRN 898 on the Jeepney Phase-Out.
“During the last hearing we learned a lot regarding this modernization program. Being the new chairman of the Committee on Public Services, I learned many things. I listened and understand the sentiments of our jeepney drivers and operators,” Tulfo said.
“It is very clear to me that the government failed, particularly the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), when it comes to information dissemination,” he added. (Senate Public Relations and Information Bureau)
