DURING a press conference at Camp Crame, DILG Secretary Juanito Victor Remulla issued a stern warning to individuals aiding and abetting those with outstanding warrants of arrest.
The Secretary emphasized that harboring or assisting fugitives carries significant legal consequences, urging anyone involved in such activities to cease immediately.
Secretary Remulla made it clear that the government is committed to holding not only the fugitives themselves accountable but also those who enable their evasion of justice. “We are warning everyone who helps hide these individuals. There are corresponding penalties for their actions,” he stated, underscoring the seriousness of the offense.
In addition to the warning, Secretary Remulla directly addressed those with outstanding warrants, advising them to surrender to authorities as soon as possible. “Our best advice to all those who have outstanding Warrants of Arrest against them: surrender as soon as possible,” he urged, suggesting that cooperation with law enforcement would be in their best interest.
The DILG’s firm stance reflects a broader effort to ensure that justice is served and that no one is above the law. By targeting both fugitives and their accomplices, the government aims to deter future criminal activity and maintain public trust in the justice system.
