HOUSE Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III has issued a statement on behalf of the Philippine Congress, extending heartfelt condolences to the families who lost loved ones and to all those affected by the recent earthquake in Cebu and neighboring provinces.
Speaker Dy stated that Congress is actively coordinating with government agencies and local authorities to ensure that necessary aid, including immediate medical services and basic necessities, reaches the areas most devastated by the quake. He added that they are in communication with representatives from the affected districts to support their relief efforts in their respective constituencies.
“Your Congress stands ready to partner in formulating the necessary programs to help those affected and further strengthen the country’s preparedness against future disasters,” Speaker Dy emphasized.
The Speaker assured the people of Cebu and the surrounding areas that they are not alone in this time of tragedy. “The entire nation and the House of Representatives of the Philippines stand with you in your recovery,” he said.
