Key responsibilities outlined in the order include:
- Senate Sergeant-at-Arms: Serving summons, subpoenas, and other legal processes; providing status reports to the Clerk of Court; implementing and maintaining security for presiding officers, senator-judges, legal teams, witnesses, and guests; maintaining order within the chamber and its premises; and enforcing all directives from the presiding officer related to order and decorum.
- Secretary of the Senate: Issuing necessary administrative orders, directives, and guidelines.
The order will remain in effect until the conclusion of the impeachment trial or until rescinded. This proactive measure underscores the Senate’s readiness to handle the significant logistical and security demands of the impending proceedings.
