THE Supreme Court belied reports circulating on social media that this year’s Bar exams will be checked with the use of artificial intelligence.
Justice Ramon Paul Hernando, the 2023 bar chair, in a statement, denounced claims traced to the Facebook group Bar Law for Dummies Training Program and to the Tzidkenu Dizon Facebook account that the 2023 bar exams will be sorted, checked, and corrected by means of AI.
“The Office of the 2023 Bar Chair condemns these social media publications as false, baseless, irresponsible, defamatory, contumacious, detestable, and formulated with apparent intent to erode the integrity of the digitalized Bar Examinations,” Hernando said.
He also explained that the bar exam results would be checked by four examiners per subject.
These examiners are “all established experts in their respective fields, and who are by no means created or powered by artificial intelligence,” he said.
He also said the initial probe of the Office of the 2023 Bar Chair has uncovered the identity of the administrator of both Facebook accounts behind the claims.
“The Court is currently undertaking proper measures against the said individual, particularly the prompt engagement of the National Bureau of Investigation in the conduct of criminal investigation of the nefarious activities and questionable circumstances surrounding this personality,” he said.
He urged bar examinees to only rely on the Supreme Court’s official communication channels.
Supreme Court Justice Marvic Leonen also denied on X that AI would be used to check the bar exam answers.
Leonen said whoever spread the rumor was “committing insensitive disinformation.”
The individual behind the Bar Law for Dummies Training Program page, who describes himself as an educational consultant, denied saying that AI would check the bar exam answers.
“Setting the facts straight. I did NOT say na AI ang mag-checcheck. See the encircled original post. Dami ninyong hanash. Walang AI, AI…. Pag bagsak ka… bagsak k talaga dahil sa kaertehan,” his Facebook post stated, in response to Leonen’s tweet.
