Sandigan grants bail to Bong Revilla in P92.8M flood control malversation case

Metrosundaily July 31, 2026

THE Sandiganbayan has granted the bail petition of former senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. in the malversation case linked to an alleged ghost ₱92.8‑million flood control project in Pandi, Bulacan.

This development was confirmed on Friday by Atty. Dennis Pulma, Clerk of Court of the anti‑graft court’s Third Division. Revilla had previously posted a separate ₱90,000 bail bond before the Sandiganbayan Fourth Division in relation to a graft charge filed against him.

However, the court denied the bail petitions of Revilla’s six co‑accused: engineers Brice Hernandez, Jaypee Mendoza, Arjay Domasig, and Emelita Juat; along with Juanito Mendoza, finance section chief of the DPWH Bulacan First District Engineering Office, and cashier Christina Pineda. Ombudsman prosecutors alleged that Revilla and the former DPWH officials declared the project complete despite no actual construction being done. They are also accused of falsifying accomplishment reports, issuing fraudulent billing papers, and endorsing disbursement vouchers to secure the full release of public funds.

Revilla remains detained at the New Quezon City Jail in Payatas while legal procedures for his release are finalized. The case forms part of the broader investigation into irregularities in flood control infrastructure, where authorities have uncovered claims of nonexistent projects and misuse of billions of pesos in government allocations. Proceedings against all accused will continue as the court resolves the merits of the case.
