FORMER senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. has once again refused to enter a plea, this time for the malversation charge he faces in connection with an alleged P92.8 million ghost flood control project in Bulacan. This mirrors his previous stance in a related graft case.
During his arraignment, the Sandiganbayan Third Division entered a not guilty plea on Revilla’s behalf, according to reports. His co-accused, Juanito Mendoza, pleader not guilty.
Court Actions Preceding Arraignment
The arraignment proceeded after the court denied Revilla’s motion to quash the malversation case and his request to be transferred to the Philippine National Police Custodial Center. The court also rejected his motion seeking the inhibition of Justice Karl Miranda from the case.
Echoes Previous Graft Case
Revilla had previously declined to enter a plea in a separate graft case stemming from the same Bulacan project. His lawyer stated that this consistent refusal aligns with Revilla’s position questioning the validity of the charges against him.
