PASTOR Quiboloy has admitted he is in hiding for fear he would be killed but denied accusations he had raped members of his religious organization.
In a voice message posted online by Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI), Quiboloy claimed the women members had offered themselves to him. He added that he was in hiding because he fears for his safety.
Quiboloy has been ordered to appear before the House of Representatives and the Senate in connection with their legislative inquiries on the alleged franchise violations of SMNI, and the allegations of human trafficking and sexual abuse against him by former members of his group Kingdom of Jesus Christ.
Lawmakers have warned that he could face arrest if he would fail to heed their subpoenas.
In his message, Quiboloy claimed he was being persecuted because of politics. He said he was “demonized” to ruin his reputation.
Addressing allegations that he forced KOJC members to provide him with sexual services, he said the women offered themselves to him because he was wealthy and not married.
But he turned them down, so they are now retaliating, he contended.
“Ngayon inaakusahan ako ng napakaraming babae. Ito po ang kasalanan ko. Pinayaman ako ng panginoon. Akala nila sa akin, single ako, kaya pinag-aagawan ako. Pagkatapos na ako’y mag-hihinde, mapapahiya, ibabaliktad nila sa akin. ‘Yan ang tinatawag kong Potiphar’s wife syndrome,” he said.
Potiphar’s wife is a biblical figure who made false accusations of attempted rape after her sexual advances were spurned.
Quiboloy also claimed that the women were competing for his affections, thinking that they would become rich.
He said he had not spoken of this because he did not want to embarrass the women.
He also said had planned to hold a press conference to share his statements, but opted for a voice message instead because of safety concerns.
Citing “reliable sources,” Quiboloy claimed that there is a plan by the United States government, in collaboration with the Philippine government, to subject him to rendition and possibly elimination.
Quiboloy is on the most wanted list of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation for “conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion; sex trafficking of children; sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion; conspiracy; bulk cash smuggling.”
