POEA nagbabala sa alok ng trabaho abroad

NAGBABALA ang Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) laban sa umano’y mga laganap na text messages na nag-aalok ng mga pekeng trabaho sa ibayong dagat.

Paglalarawan ni POEA administrator Bernard Olalia, kahina-hinala ang mga URL links na kalakip ng mga alok na trabaho, bagay na aniya’y posibleng hangad lang na kumuha ng mga personal information o yaong tinatawag na identity theft.

Sa sandaling makuha ang mga personal na detalye, posible rin aniyang magamit ang pangalan ng biktima sa panloloko pa ng iba.

“In smishing, text messages promising employment and high salaries are sent to trick users to click on suspicious links. These links then redirect users to fraudulent sites when clicked. These sites may steal users’ personal data, introduce mobile malware, and even commit fraud,” aniya.

Paalala ng POEA , kung kahina-hinala ang email o text job offer, i-block agad ang sender at i-report sa POEA, telecommunications provider, National Privacy Commission (NPC) o sa National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).

Babala rin sa mga overseas job applicants na ingatan ang kanilang contact information at huwag basta-basta magbigay ng kopya ng kanilang government-issued identification cards at documents sa mga taong hindi nila kakilala.

Huwag ding magbibigay ng pera o bayad sa kung sinuman na hindi inaalam muna ang mga impormasyon tungkol sa kanilang licensed recruitment agencies, tulad ng pangalan ng agency at pangalan ng kanilang authorized representative. Diin pa ng opisyal, dapat munang magberipika sa POEA para sa talaan ng mga accredited recruitment agencies.

Sa mga nagnanais Mangibang-bansa para magtrabaho, payo pa ni Olalia na gamitin ang POEA Verification System sa POEA website (www.poea.gov.ph) or mag-email sa POEA Information Center sa connect@poea.gov.ph upang makumpirma ang overseas employment offers.
