PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., joined by Speaker Faustino “Bojie” G. Dy III, Senate President Sherwin “Win” T. Gatchalian, Education Secretary Juan Edgardo “Sonny” M. Angara, Commission on Higher Education Chairperson Shirley C. Agrupis, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Sec. Jose Francisco “Kiko” B. Benitez, and leaders of the House, signs into law Republic Act No. 12325 or an Act Enhancing the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act.
The new law gives students from Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) households top priority in receiving tertiary education subsidies, ensuring support for qualified 4Ps graduates admitted to government-recognized higher education and technical-vocational institutions.
It also establishes a Private Education Assistance Program that will provide government grants to students enrolled in priority programs at private higher education institutions and technical-vocational institutions, further expanding access to affordable and quality tertiary education.
