MALACANANG has addressed growing public anxiety surrounding the possibility of a global war amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
In a press briefing on Monday, Presidential Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro assured the public that the government is fully prepared to respond to any eventuality.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has instructed all relevant agencies to prioritize the safety and well-being of overseas Filipinos, particularly those in high-risk areas. Castro emphasized the President’s message that the government is ready to address any needs of the Filipino people and urged citizens not to worry.
This statement follows recent reports of a US-led attack on three Iranian nuclear sites, including the Fordow underground uranium enrichment facility, as announced by US President Donald Trump on social media.
Trump described the attack as a “very successful” operation, utilizing B-2 Spirit stealth bombers to deliver a “full payload of BOMBS” on the primary target, Fordow.
While Trump declared the American forces involved returned safely, the attack has significantly heightened global tensions and fueled concerns about the potential for a wider conflict.
In response, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has called for de-escalation and a diplomatic resolution to the crisis, a sentiment echoed by Undersecretary Castro, who stated that President Marcos supports efforts to prevent war and maintain peace in the region. The Palace continues to urge calm and a commitment to international diplomacy.
