A STAFF member of Senator Robinhood Padilla, identified as “Ms. Nadia Montenegro,” has been named in a report concerning alleged marijuana use on Senate grounds.
The report, compiled by a Senate security staff member, was shared with the media on Thursday, August 14, 2025, prompting immediate attention and raising questions about potential violations of Senate rules and regulations. The incident has placed Senator Padilla’s office under scrutiny, particularly given his previous advocacy for the legalization of medical marijuana.
Senate Secretary Renato Bantug Jr. issued a statement confirming that an investigation had been conducted by the Office of the Sergeant-At-Arms (OSAA) following the report.
“Today, 14 August 2025, the OSAA has submitted its report on the incident,” Bantug stated. “As instructed by Senate President Escudero, we have provided a copy of this report to the Office of Senator Robinhood C. Padilla for their information and appropriate action.” The next steps remain uncertain, as Senator Padilla’s office is now tasked with reviewing the findings and determining the appropriate course of action.
