PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. stressed the importance of ensuring the complete and irreversible destruction of seized illegal drugs during a visit to an incineration facility in Tarlac.
He emphasized the need to guarantee that confiscated narcotics are destroyed effectively, leaving no possibility of them re-entering the market. President Marcos’s visit underscored the administration’s commitment to a transparent and efficient system for handling illegal drugs, from initial seizure and testing to final disposal.
The President highlighted the government’s efforts to maintain a robust system, covering all stages from apprehension and chemical testing to incineration.
The visit focused on 1.53 tons of illegal drugs, estimated to be worth PhP9.48 billion, which underwent thorough PDEA inspection and chemical testing before being incinerated.
The President’s emphasis on complete destruction reflects the government’s determination to combat the illegal drug trade effectively and prevent the recirculation of seized narcotics.
