PALACE Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro stated on Tuesday that Malacañang does not view the ongoing gathering of the Iglesia ni Cristo along EDSA as a security threat.
She emphasized that the administration remains confident in the legitimacy of its actions, which it asserts are carried out for the benefit of the general public rather than for private or partisan motives.
Translated, her remarks mean that no threat is seen because the President knows his work serves the people; the interests of certain groups or individuals should not hinder the government’s duty to enforce the law.
She added that while the administration respects the right of citizens to assemble and express their views, it will continue to uphold legal processes and government mandates. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to ensure the activity remains peaceful and does not disrupt public order, traffic flow, or the safety of commuters and residents in the area.
