Malacañang denies report of ‘Presidential son’ convoy harassment

Metrosundaily February 22, 2026

MALACANANG has refuted a circulating report alleging that a convoy involving a “presidential son” was harassed by a group of vehicles purportedly registered in Bulacan. The statement aims to dispel rumors and misinformation spreading across social media platforms and news outlets.

According to the official press release, initial investigations conducted by the Presidential Security Group (PSG) and relevant law enforcement agencies found no evidence to support the claim. The PSG, responsible for the safety and security of the President and his immediate family, stated that no such incident involving a presidential son’s convoy occurred.

“We have thoroughly checked the reports and found them to be baseless,” said a spokesperson from Malacañang. “It is crucial for the public to rely on verified sources and not to propagate rumors, especially those that involve high-profile individuals and could lead to unnecessary public anxiety.” The administration reiterated its commitment to transparency and accountability, assuring the public that any legitimate security concerns involving the President’s family would be addressed promptly and transparently.

The incident underscores the challenges of combating misinformation in the digital age. Malacañang urged the public to exercise caution and critical thinking when consuming news from unofficial sources. The administration also vowed to continue working with media outlets and social media platforms to ensure accurate and responsible reporting.
