Malacañang announced on Tuesday, May 6, that May 12, 2025, Election Day, will be a nationwide special non-working holiday.
Proclamation No. 878, signed by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., declares Monday, May 12, a special non-working holiday to facilitate the public’s participation in the upcoming elections. The declaration follows a request from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to ensure Filipinos can fully exercise their right to vote in Eleksyon 2025.
