CONTROVERSIAL lawyer and senatoriable Larry Gadon is facing preventive suspension by the Supreme Court over a viral video in which he hurled profanities against journalist Raissa Robles.
The SC Public Information Office said, Gadon’s preventive suspension is effective immediately and will last until lifted by the court.
The SC also told Gadon to show cause why he should not be disbarred in connection with the viral video. In a resolution issued on Tuesday, he was given 10 days to file his comment.
In December 2021, the Foreign Correspondents’ Association of the Philippines condemned Gadon for a profanity-filled rant directed at journalist Raissa Robles that contained Filipino equivalents of the f-word and a reference to sex with a dog.
FOCAP called on the Supreme Court and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines to discipline Gadon, who had recorded a video in response to a tweet by Robles saying presidential aspirant Ferdinand Marcos Jr’s failure to file — a matter raised in a plea to disqualify him from the 2022 presidential elections — puts into question whether he paid taxes back then.
