Interfaith service held for House impeachment prosecution team

Metrosundaily June 11, 2025

MEMBERS of the House prosecution panel in the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte participated in an interfaith prayer service on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

The service, held in the North Wing Lobby of the House of Representatives, was led by Christian church leaders and a Muslim imam.

The interfaith leaders offered prayers for divine guidance and strength for the prosecution team as they proceed with the impeachment trial.

The prayer service focused on seeking divine blessings for the prosecutors, asking for courage and wisdom in fulfilling their constitutional mandate to hold public officials accountable.

The leaders invoked prayers for guidance from conscience and a commitment to truth, hoping that justice would prevail in the proceedings. The event underscored the significance of the impeachment trial and the weight of responsibility carried by the prosecution team.

The interfaith service provided a moment of reflection and spiritual support for the House prosecutors amidst the high-stakes political and legal proceedings.

The presence of both Christian and Muslim leaders highlighted the shared commitment to justice and fairness, regardless of religious affiliation. The event served as a public demonstration of the gravity of the impeachment trial and the importance of upholding the rule of law.
