Hernandez temporarily released from Senate custody to gather evidence

admin September 20, 2025

FORMER Bulacan 1st district assistant engineer Brice Hernandez, who has been providing testimony regarding alleged anomalies in flood control projects, was temporarily permitted to leave the Senate premises on Saturday morning, according to Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.

Hernandez requested the temporary release to gather additional evidence to support his claims against certain individuals purportedly involved in the irregularities. Sotto granted the request, recognizing the importance of allowing Hernandez to bolster his testimony with concrete proof.

The decision to allow Hernandez to leave Senate custody underscores the seriousness with which the Senate is treating the allegations of corruption in flood control projects.

By providing Hernandez with the opportunity to gather further evidence, the Senate is demonstrating its commitment to uncovering the truth and holding those responsible accountable.

It remains unclear how long Hernandez will be away from the Senate or what specific evidence he intends to collect. However, his return is anticipated, at which point he will likely resume his testimony and present the newly acquired information to the investigating committee.
