SENATOR Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go has urged the Department of Health (DOH) and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) to allocate more funds for regional specialty hospitals and super health centers in the country. Go believes this will expand healthcare services and benefit poor Filipinos.
During Tuesday’s budget hearing for the DOH and its attached agencies, Go emphasized the need to utilize PhilHealth’s excess funds for healthcare purposes. He also advocated for continued funding for super health centers, a project he championed since 2022.
“Super health centers are primary care health facilities where consultation and minor healthcare treatment services will be available,” Go explained. “Now is the time to improve our healthcare system,” he stressed.
Go’s call for increased funding highlights the importance of accessible and quality healthcare for all Filipinos. The senator believes that investing in specialty hospitals and super health centers will significantly improve the country’s healthcare infrastructure and provide greater access to essential medical services.
