‘Gentleman’s agreement’ sa pagitan ng Pinas, China itinanggi ni Duterte

ITINANGGI ni dating pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang kasunduan na ginawa umano ng China sa West Philippine Sea.

Sa press conference na iniere nang live sa SMNI’s Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa’s page Huwebes ng gabi, sinabi ni Duterte na walang pangulo ang isusuko ang anumang teritoryo.

“Let me be very clear on this: We have not conceded anything to China. There might have been [an] exchange of control over the China Sea to those who are really territorial in nature, not involving the encroachment of China in our exclusive economic zone. Iba ‘yun,” sabi ni Duterte.

“Aside from the fact of having a handshake with President Xi Jinping, the only thing I remember was that status quo. That’s the word — na walang galawan. No movement, no armed patrols there. As is where is, para walang magkagulo… hindi tayo magkagulo,” dagdag pa nito.

Ayon pa kay Duterte ay ito lamang ang kanyang natatandaan. Ni hindi rin umano nya alam ang Ayungin Shoal.

Nauna nang sinabi ni dating spokesperson Harry Roque na nagkaroon ng “gentleman’s agreement” si Duterte at ang China na magpapahinto sa kontruksiyon at pagdadala ng repair materials sa BRP Sierra Madre sa Ayungin (Second Thomas) Shoal.

Nang tanungin tungkol sa sinabi ni Roque, sinabi ng dating pangulo ng “As is where is nga. You cannot bring in materials to repair and improve — wala ‘yan.”
