THE FPJ Panday Bayanihan Partylist has announced a partnership with the Legal Aid Society of the Philippines (LASP) to provide free legal services to those in need.
The program, titled “Legal Aid Clinic 2024,” will begin on November 8, 2023, and will be held every Friday at the LASP office in Ermita, Manila.
The initiative aims to provide legal assistance to qualified accused/defendants in pending criminal cases. Brian Poe Llamanzares, the first nominee of FPJ Panday Bayanihan Partylist, emphasized the importance of providing immediate justice to those who are incarcerated. “Justice is the third pillar of our organization,” Poe said.
“This is just the beginning, and we hope that more groups will support the Legal Aid Society in their efforts to aid our fellow countrymen and women in need.”
The Legal Aid Clinic will be open from 8:30 am to 11:30 am every Friday. Individuals seeking assistance are encouraged to register online at https://forms.gle/Mt4G676dqGLriRim9 to receive priority service.
Joseph Migriño, Executive Director of LASP, welcomed the partnership with FPJ Panday Bayanihan, stating that they share the same advocacy of justice for all.
“We always struggle to find partners who share the same advocacy on access to justice,” Migriño said. “So when we talked to Brian thoroughly, we realized that we are not alone in the desire for a significant change in the field of justice for everyone.”
The Legal Aid Clinic is part of a larger initiative by FPJ Panday Bayanihan to promote access to justice for all. The partylist, founded by Senator Grace Poe, believes that justice is essential for the development of the country. By providing legal assistance to those who cannot afford it, FPJ Panday Bayanihan hopes to empower individuals and contribute to a more just society.
