FORMER Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Bulacan District Engineer Henry Alcantara is expected to return an additional P200 million to the government as restitution.
According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), Alcantara may turn over the money next week in conjunction with his application to the Witness Protection Program (WPP).
Alcantara previously returned P110 million to the government in November.
On Friday, December 12, Alcantara visited the DOJ to continue his cooperation in the investigation into anomalous flood control projects.
He, along with former DPWH officials Roberto Bernardo, Brice Hernandez, and Jaypee Mendoza, are being considered “protected witnesses” and are under “provisional acceptance” into the WPP.
