PUBLIC Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon announced on Monday that the agency has 1,993 vacant positions and assured current employees, including job order staff, that they will be prioritized for promotion.
Dizon emphasized his commitment to promoting deserving, honest, and hardworking individuals already within the DPWH. He stated that job order employees, despite their short-term status, are also eligible for advancement and will be prioritized for the nearly 2,000 vacancies.
In addition to addressing the vacant positions, Dizon also promised that salaries for job order employees will no longer be delayed, warning that anyone responsible for late wages will face dismissal.
He assured employees that all salaries will be paid within seven days of the cut-off date. Dizon’s announcement follows his earlier call for the courtesy resignation of all DPWH officials amid ongoing investigations into flood-control projects.
