FOLLOWING revelations made during this morning’s Senate blue ribbon committee hearing, Representative Chel Diokno is challenging all those implicated – including personnel and officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), as well as certain legislators – to demonstrate full transparency by presenting their Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALNs) and signing waivers of bank secrecy.
Diokno is also encouraging other contractors and officials to come forward and disclose any information they possess regarding irregularities.
“Sa mga pagbubunyag nitong umaga sa Senado, hinahamon natin ang lahat ng nadawit—mga tauhan at opisyal ng DPWH, pati na rin ang ilang mambabatas—na ipakita ang kanilang SALN at lumagda ng waiver sa bank secrecy para sa ganap na transparency.”
Diokno emphasized the recurring nature of corruption across various administrations, reaching even the highest levels of power.
“Kitang-kita na ang korapsyon ay paulit-ulit na nangyayari sa iba’t ibang administrasyon, at umaabot hanggang sa mga pinakamataas na antas ng kapangyarihan.” He asserted that those behind these acts, along with their accomplices, must be held accountable, stating,
“Dapat mapanagot ang mga nasa likod nito, pati na ang kanilang mga kasabwat. Hindi tayo papayag na may makakalusot.”
