IN a significant development related to anomalous flood control projects, contractor Sally Santos has returned approximately P15 million to the government, according to Justice spokesperson Polo Martinez. The funds represent a portion of her restitution as outlined in a memorandum of agreement.
Martinez confirmed the return on Monday, stating that further details would be released at a later time.
Santos is the owner and manager of SYMS Construction Trading, a company implicated in irregularities concerning flood control projects.
The restitution is part of an agreement reached with the state, following investigations into the alleged anomalies. The government is expected to provide more information regarding the specific projects involved and the total amount of restitution expected from Santos.
