admin November 15, 2023

A TOTAL of 2,778 foreigners had been denied entry to the Philippines from Jan. 1 to Oct. 31, 2023, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said on Tuesday, Nov. 14.

“As the world opens, the number of travelers has increased. And with this also comes the increase of illegal aliens attempting to enter the country,” BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco said.

Those denied entry included undesirable aliens and those improperly documented, he said. They included 696 Chinese, 414 Vietnamese, 214 Indonesian, 204 Americans, and 138 Indians, he said.

Most of those denied entry attempted to enter the Philippines through the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), he added.
