HANS Cacdac is the new secretary of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).
THE Commission on Appointments (CA) on Tuesday officially approved the ad interim appointment of Cacdac
This came after the CA Committee on Labor, Employment, Social Welfare, and Migrant Workers, chaired by Negros Occidental Representative Mercedes Alvarez, endorsed his confirmation as head of the DMW earlier in the day.
During the plenary session, CA chairman and Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero approved the motion after several lawmakers expressed their trust and appreciation for the hard work of Cacdac in the labor and overseas Filipino workers (OFW) sectors.
Cacdac held the position of DMW undersecretary prior to his elevation to the Cabinet.
He was also an executive director of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and the Philippine Employment Administration (POEA) and an undersecretary of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
