THE Department of Justice (DOJ) has included former Senator Bong Revilla and former lawmaker Zaldy Co as respondents in two complaints concerning alleged ghost flood control projects in Bulacan, Prosecutor General Richard “Dong” Fadullon revealed Friday.
According to Fadullon, Revilla and Co were included as “proponents” in the complaints, which initially only involved DPWH officials. “Eventually, there were pieces of evidence submitted by the National Bureau of Investigation, and this time included proponents,” he said. Justice spokesperson Atty. Polo Martinez clarified that Revilla was added to the complaint involving SYMS Construction.
Fadullon also stated that three of the five complaints have been submitted for resolution, with the panel expected to release its decision before December 15. The Justice Department is currently conducting a preliminary investigation on the remaining two complaints.
Revilla has requested an extension to file his counter-affidavit. Fadullon said the panel will act accordingly, awaiting the results of the preliminary investigation. He expressed hope that the preliminary investigation for the remaining two complaints will be completed by December 15.
