BRIAN Poe Llamanzares, the first nominee for the FPJ Panday Bayanihan Partylist, lauded the dedication of Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) reservists during their National Convention 2024.
The event, held in Mandaluyong City, brought together over 2,000 reservists, military officials, and leaders from the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
“As a soldier’s advocate and the chair of the Army Reserve Command’s communication committee, I am honored to be here today,” Poe stated. “Being an AFP reservist is a testament to your commitment to serving our country. It’s a responsibility you embrace with pride, and your cause has the full support of Senator Grace Poe and the FPJ Panday Bayanihan Partylist.”
General Romeo Brawner Jr., AFP Chief of Staff, highlighted the importance of strengthening the Reserve Force Development Strategy 2023-2028 through improved training and recruitment. “Our reservists are an integral part of the AFP,” Brawner emphasized. “They provide crucial support during times of crisis and actively participate in community development. Their dedication makes us ready to face any threat to our national sovereignty.”
The convention celebrated the unique role of reservists, citizens who balance military service with civilian careers, ready to answer the call of duty when needed. “You were not forced to serve your country; you volunteered to be nation-builders and defenders of our great nation,” Poe said, acknowledging their commitment.
Senator Grace Poe and the FPJ Panday Bayanihan Partylist pledged continued support for the AFP reservists. The successful convention served as a testament to their unwavering dedication to national service.
