THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) said it is poised to deport a German national wanted by authorities in Berlin for a string of fraud cases.
BI Commissioner Jaime Morente identified the fugitive as Lindner Hans Dieter, 76, who is now in the Bureau’s custody following his arrest on Monday in Bgy. Parada, Valenzuela City.
Operatives from the BI’s Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) arrested the German on the strength of a warrant of deportation issued by the BI.
Morente said the warrant is pursuant to a summary deportation order issued against Dieter in December last year for being an undesirable alien.
“We will immediately send him out of the country, as it has already been proven that he is an undesirable alien due to his crimes. He has been placed in our blacklist and banned from re-entering the Philippines,” the BI Chief added.
A check of the BI’s records revealed that Dieter has already been overstaying in the Philippines, having arrived on November 2, 2016.
According to the German authorities, Dieter is subject of an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Heidelberg, Germany on October 20, 2020.
Dieter was reportedly convicted by the said court in November 2013 after being found guilty for banking and financial fraud, and delayed filing of insolvency and bankruptcy declaration.
He is now detained at the BI Warden Facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City while awaiting deportation.
