A FOURTH impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte has been transmitted to the Office of Speaker Faustino “Bojie” G. Dy III following its formal receipt by the Office of the Secretary General (OSG).
The OSG said the verified complaint was received at 6:34 p.m. on Wednesday and was forwarded on Thursday to the Office of Speaker Dy in line with established House rules.
“The fourth impeachment complaint filed against Vice President Sara Duterte was formally received by the Office of the Secretary General at 6:34 p.m. on Wednesday and has been transmitted to the Office of Speaker Faustino ‘Bojie’ G. Dy III today, Thursday, in accordance with established House rules,” the statement read.
The complaint was filed by Atty. Nathaniel G. Cabrera and endorsed by House Committee on Human Rights Chair Bienvenido “Benny” Abante Jr. and Deputy Speaker Paolo Ortega V.
The Office of the Secretary General stressed that its participation in the process is limited.
“The OSG’s role is purely ministerial, confined to receiving and transmitting pleadings and documents filed with the House,” it said.
It added that any step taken on the complaint will follow constitutional and institutional procedures.
“The OSG emphasized that any action on the complaint will proceed strictly in accordance with the Constitution and the rules of the House of Representatives,” it said.
