COMMUTERS on the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) can now enjoy a more convenient and faster travel experience with the introduction of cashless payment options.
The Department of Transportation-MRT-3 (DOTr-MRT3) announced on Saturday that GCash contactless payments are now available at all stations, following a successful pilot testing program.
The DOTr-MRT3 stated that this initiative is a direct response to the President’s directive to improve passenger convenience and speed.
Commuters can now purchase single-journey tickets using GCash at designated cashless payment counters located at each station. This move marks a significant step towards modernizing the MRT-3 system and reducing reliance on cash transactions.
