THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced the suspension of the expanded number coding scheme for three days next week.
These will be on October 30 (Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections), November 1 (All Saints’ Day), and November 2 (All Souls’ Day).
“Suspendido ang pagpapatupad ng expanded number coding scheme sa mga susunod na araw na idineklara bilang special non-working days,” MMDA said in its social media posts.
The number coding scheme typically runs during rush hours from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Under this, vehicles with plate numbers ending in 1 and 2 will not be allowed to use public roads on Mondays, 3 and 4 on Tuesdays, 5 and 6 on Wednesdays, 7 and 8 on Thursdays, and 9 and 0 on Fridays during the mentioned hours.
Public utility vehicles, transport network vehicle services, motorcycles, garbage trucks, fuel trucks, marked government vehicles, trucks, ambulances, marked media vehicles, and vehicles carrying essential and perishable goods are exempted from the scheme.
