ISABELA Governor Rod Albano confirmed on Tuesday that rescuers have spotted the Piper aircraft that went missing last November 30.
The report said ground rescuers rushed toward the crash site. It said they have identified a possible area where Philippine Air Force rescuers can land, but they are still checking if it’s safe.
“The Piper appears intact, thus there is good chance of occupants’ survival,” the report read, referring to the pilot and one passenger.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines confirmed the sighting of the plane. It added it is waiting for an official report from investigators deployed on the ground.
The Piper PA-32-300 aircraft with tail number RP-C1234 went missing shortly after leaving Cauayan Airport in Isabela to head to Palanan Airport in the same province.
Isabela’s disaster management head Constante Foronda previously said strong winds may have affected the plane’s flight.
