A WOMAN died early Saturday morning after a fire engulfed a residential area in Barangay West Kamias, Quezon City.
The blaze broke out at the intersection of Kamias Road and Colonel Salgado Street.
The fire started at approximately 3:40 a.m. and was declared under control by 4:44 a.m. According to fire officials, the situation escalated quickly, prompting a second alarm to be raised. The location of the fire, near a gas station and EDSA, Metro Manila’s main thoroughfare, added to the urgency of the response.
Firefighters faced difficulties in recovering the remains of the female victim from under the debris.
Tragically, the victim’s family informed that while her dogs initially escaped the burning house, one of them returned inside and also died in the fire. In addition to the dog, the victim’s fourteen cats perished in the blaze.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by local authorities.
